Flash your Ox Dot

Reinstall your Ox Dot's firmware over USB — right in this browser tab, no app to download. Requires Firefox 151+ on Mac, Windows, or Linux.

If the browser tab closes by itself right after the install finishes — a rare, intermittent macOS quirk in some Chrome browsers — don't worry: your Ox Dot is already flashed. Just reopen this page to set it up. (Firefox 151+ avoids it entirely.)

What does this do to my device?

Your recordings are safe. They live in SageOx, not on the device, so nothing here can touch them. This is a full wipe and clean install: it erases everything on the Ox Dot — Wi-Fi networks, pairing, and settings — then writes a fresh copy of the firmware. The Ox Dot starts up like new, and you set it up again afterward.

How it works and common troubleshooting

  1. Use a data USB-C cable. Charge-only cables won't work — and a charge-only cable is the usual reason a device never shows up.
  2. Plug the Ox Dot into your computer and leave it connected until the install finishes.
  3. Click Connect & Install, pick the Ox Dot from the list, and confirm the erase. The install takes a minute or two — leave the tab open.
  4. Set it up again. The Ox Dot restarts and walks you through Wi-Fi and pairing. Wi-Fi must be 2.4 GHz. For full instructions on the Ox Dot, read the docs.
